First Presbyterian Church in St.
Marys was built in 1808 and is among
three other churches built in the 1800’s.
Under the huge oaks a few blocks away,
visit Oak Grove Cemetery, with its earliest
marked grave from 1801. Step back
to the not so distant past at St. Marys
Submarine Museum and see the submarines,
sailors and the memorabilia evolve to
the modern day.

Trident Lakes Golf
Course is a beautiful

acres on the Kings Bay Naval
Submarine Base. The course,
opened to the public, is an

Camden County Recreation
Center
The
Camden County Recreation Center offers
indoor and outdoor activities with team
sports such as: swimming, baseball,
softball, soccer, basketball, track,
cheerleading, football, and gymnastics.

room, free weights, aerobics, racquetball,

Cumberland Island National
Seashore
The largest and southernmost
island in Georgia is accessible only
by a 45 minute ferry ride from downtown
St. Marys to the southern end of the
island. Visitors can explore and experience
the 17.5 mile long barrier island seven
days a week March thru November (Thursday-Monday,
December thru February). Comfortable
shoes are recommended to view the historical
sights and abundant wildlife (wild horses,
many species of birds, loggerhead turtles
and more) because there are no vehicles
on the island. Plan a daytrip or an
overnight stay, but remember to bring
a your own food, drink, sunglasses and
sun block because there aren’t any stores
on the island. Fishing is allowed on
the island, but anglers must have a
Georgia Fishing License. The first ferry
leaves downtown St. Marys at 9:00 am
and the last ferry from the island leaves
at 4:45 pm. There is a $4.00 park usage
fee for all visitors and the round trip
ferry fee ranges from $10.00 for children
under 12 to $15.00 for adults. Seniors
receive a $3.00 discount.

doesn’t fit your schedule, visit the
Cumberland Island National Seashore
Museum on the waterfront in downtown
St. Marys. Open year round (except December
25th) from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm and funded
by the park usage fees, the museum has
wonderful displays and exhibits of what
life was like for the inhabitants of
Cumberland Island including artifacts
and other interesting information. Contact
